• Test smoke detectors and carbon monoxide alarms
• Check plumbing for leaks or issues
• Inspect outdoor areas — clear pathways and check lighting
• Ensure Wi-Fi and key amenities are functioning
• Restock essentials: paper goods, soaps, trash bags
• Set thermostat to appropriate temperature
• Light cleaning for anything left undone
• Hang new towels for next guest
• Check and secure all doors and windows
• Final walkthrough to ensure a welcoming arrival
• Email report with pictures

Post-Rental Checklist

Protect your home and keep it ready for the next guest. Here’s our essential post-rental checklist to ensure everything is in order for the cleaners.

• Inspect for any damages or missing items, inside and outside
• Check to see if the renters followed your check-out instructions
• Check and reset all locks and security systems
• Ensure all doors and windows are locked
• Check the fridge for any leftovers
• Check that dishwasher was run
• Trash removed
• Make sure furniture is in the right place
• Inspect for critters
• Check HVAC and thermostat settings
• Test appliances and electronics to confirm working order and remotes in the right place
• Check need for restocking essential items (PT, TP, soap, laundry, sponges, etc)
• Final walkthrough for anything overlooked
• Give owner a rental rating and final report with pictures
