- Inspect HVAC filters
- Confirm all appliances are working properly
- Test smoke detectors and carbon monoxide alarms
- Check plumbing for leaks or issues
- Inspect outdoor areas — clear pathways and check lighting
- Ensure Wi-Fi and key amenities are functioning
- Restock essentials: paper goods, soaps, trash bags
- Set thermostat to appropriate temperature
- Light cleaning for anything left undone
- Hang new towels for next guest
- Check and secure all doors and windows
- Final walkthrough to ensure a welcoming arrival
- Email report with pictures
Post-Rental Checklist
Protect your home and keep it ready for the next guest. Here’s our essential post-rental checklist to ensure everything is in order for the cleaners.
- Inspect for any damages or missing items, inside and outside
- Check to see if the renters followed your check-out instructions
- Check and reset all locks and security systems
- Ensure all doors and windows are locked
- Check the fridge for any leftovers
- Check that dishwasher was run
- Trash removed
- Make sure furniture is in the right place
- Inspect for critters
- Check HVAC and thermostat settings
- Test appliances and electronics to confirm working order and remotes in the right place
- Check need for restocking essential items (PT, TP, soap, laundry, sponges, etc)
- Final walkthrough for anything overlooked
- Give owner a rental rating and final report with pictures
